System audio not captured
Symptoms
Section titled “Symptoms”The recording view says Microphone only, or the resulting live recording lacks expected system audio.
Likely causes
Section titled “Likely causes”Screen Recording permission is not granted, macOS needs a relaunch after a permission change, or the current system-audio route is outside the unverified compatibility matrix.
Fast checks
Section titled “Fast checks”Check Settings > macOS Permissions, confirm Screen Recording access, then quit and reopen Synthezia. Verify whether the microphone-only notice appeared during the recording.
Resolution
Section titled “Resolution”Grant Screen Recording permission in macOS and retry with a safe test. If the beta system-audio path cannot start, retain the microphone-only result and do not assume that a specific conferencing application or device route is supported.
Data-loss warning
Section titled “Data-loss warning”Do not delete a microphone-only recording before deciding whether it is useful. Permission changes do not recover audio that was not captured.
Information to collect for support
Section titled “Information to collect for support”Collect the macOS version, hardware, Screen Recording state, capture source, visible skip message, application version, and whether microphone audio was recorded.
